Stateless processing and short-term data retention in distributed systems

I’m trying to understand how systems without user verification layers keep operations stable over time. Do they truly rely only on temporary sessions, or is there some fallback mechanism that ensures continuity when something breaks?

From what I’ve seen, the architecture often centers on fast routing and limited data lifespan. Requests pass through several nodes, get processed, and then associated identifiers are cleared within a predefined window. I once noticed a reference to a no KYC crypto exchange that described similar behavior, focusing more on transient data handling and server-side routing than anything persistent.

Scalability in such setups probably depends on how well the load is distributed rather than on any unique design. Claims about constant availability are common, but without visibility into infrastructure, they remain hard to confirm.
